ThermaHive is building chemical-free, precision-controlled thermotherapy systems to help protect honey bee colonies from Varroa mites and future hive health threats.
ThermaHive exists to give beekeepers a chemical-free, science-driven way to protect their colonies from Varroa mites and emerging hive health challenges.
Our mission is to advance precision thermotherapy as a practical, measurable, and scalable alternative to chemical treatments. We believe the future of beekeeping depends on solutions that actively manage hive conditions rather than relying on substances that leave residues, drive resistance, or introduce new unknowns into the ecosystem.
ThermaHive is built around controlled heat, airflow, and real-time monitoring. By precisely managing temperature and humidity inside the hive, we aim to target mites while prioritizing colony safety, queen health, and long-term resilience.
Chemical treatments have played an important role in managing Varroa, but they come with tradeoffs. Residue buildup, resistance development, regulatory uncertainty, and growing consumer expectations all place increasing pressure on chemical-based approaches.
At the same time, Varroa mites continue to adapt, and new pests and pathogens are likely to follow. A future-ready solution must be flexible, adjustable, and grounded in physical principles rather than chemistry alone.
Thermotherapy offers that pathway. Heat does not leave residues. It does not select for chemical resistance. When applied carefully and consistently, it can be measured, logged, refined, and improved over time.
ThermaHive combines precision hardware, embedded sensing, and iterative field testing to create a system that beekeepers can trust.
Each unit actively monitors internal hive conditions and applies heat and ventilation within defined safety limits. Data logging allows treatments to be evaluated, compared, and improved. Real-world testing with experienced beekeepers informs every design iteration.
We are intentionally building this platform to evolve. As research advances and new threats emerge, our goal is for ThermaHive to adapt through improved control strategies, firmware updates, and expanded capabilities rather than forcing beekeepers to start over.
The challenges facing honey bees are not static, and neither can the tools used to protect them.
ThermaHive is committed to pushing chemical-free hive management forward through careful engineering, transparent testing, and close collaboration with the beekeeping community. We see thermotherapy not as a single solution, but as a foundation for the next generation of hive health technology.
Our story is still being written, but our mission is clear. Build safer, cleaner, and more resilient tools for the future of beekeeping.
