July 2026 Update
The Numbers Are
In Our Favor.

Every hive is under threshold, we just pulled a bumper honey harvest, and V2 pre-orders are officially open. Here is where things stand this month.

ThermaHive
July 2026
“Chemical-free mite control, backed by field data.”

Hello from the ThermaHive team. We are deep into the summer field season, and this month brought several of the results we have been chasing since day one: a heavily infested hive brought back from the brink, an entire apiary now sitting under the mite threshold, and a bumper honey harvest to top it off.

We also have the milestone we have been waiting to share. Read on.

Field Results
TH-6: A Problem Hive, Turned Around

Every field season has a hive that keeps you up at night. This year it was TH-6. Coming into treatment, it carried one of the heaviest mite loads in the entire program, testing at 10.7 percent, well above the threshold where a colony is considered at serious risk.

We ran a single ThermaHive thermotherapy treatment. Afterward, the mite load dropped to 0.85 percent. To make sure the result was real and not a fluke of sampling, we confirmed it with two separate mite washes. Both came back in the same range.

Before Treatment
10.7%

After Treatment
0.85%
confirmed by 2 mite washes

That is a knockdown of more than 90 percent from one treatment, with no miticides, no chemical residue in the hive, and no resistance concerns. This is exactly the kind of outcome ThermaHive was built to deliver.

And it is not just TH-6. Our latest mite washes have every hive we sampled sitting below the 3 percent threshold, from one colony testing at a clean 0 percent to our two most stubborn hives of the season, now down to 2.93 and 1.92 percent after running high earlier in the year. A few colonies are close enough to the line that we already have proactive follow-up treatments planned, but seeing an entire apiary under threshold, kept there without a single chemical, is the strongest whole-program signal we have had yet.

Harvest
A Big Week: ~250 lbs of Honey Pulled

This past week we pulled honey from our ThermaHive colonies, and the harvest was a big one: roughly 250 pounds of honey across 101 frames. It is a great sign of strong, healthy colonies, and a pretty satisfying reward after a busy treatment season.

There is a quieter story in that harvest worth pointing out. Because ThermaHive is completely chemical-free, we did not have to time our mite treatments around the honey flow or worry about pulling supers before applying anything. No chemical residues, no label-mandated waiting periods, no question of whether a treatment might taint the honey. When the frames were ready, we simply pulled them. That freedom, treat when the bees need it and harvest when the honey is ready, is one of the everyday advantages of heat over chemicals that is easy to overlook.

Chemical-free means no harvest-timing headaches: treat when the bees need it, pull honey when it is ready. No residues, no waiting periods, no compromises.

V2 Pre-Orders Are Officially Open

This is the announcement we have been building toward all year. Pre-orders for the ThermaHive V2 are now open. V2 is a ground-up redesign built around one idea: precision heat treatment that scales across your whole apiary. It is more mobile, more affordable to expand, and fully wireless, so a single controller can run and monitor treatments across many hives.

A quick, honest note on pricing: the pre-order price may still shift as we finalize manufacturing and component costs. We would rather be upfront about that than lock in a number we are not confident in. Anyone who pre-orders will be kept in the loop as pricing firms up, and there is no obligation locked in before you have the final details.

The ThermaHive V2: Now available for pre-order

What is new in V2:

  • Move it between hives in seconds. The magnetic Heater Insert lifts out tool-free and carries to the next hive, with no brood boxes to remove and no disassembly. Drop the Blank Insert in and it doubles as a screened bottom board.
  • Scale your apiary affordably. One Heater Insert works across any number of hives. To add a hive, you just add a Bottom Treatment Frame instead of buying a whole new unit.
  • Fully wireless. Wireless in-hive sensors, over-the-air firmware updates over Wi-Fi, and wireless data download, so no cables and no SD card swaps, ever.
  • One controller, up to 50 sensors. Monitor temperature and humidity in every corner of every hive across your whole operation from a single controller.
  • No drilling required. The wireless SHT31 sensor drops into standard bee space between frames, with no half-inch hole, no plugs, and no woodware modifications. BroodMinder compatibility is included out of the box.

V2 keeps everything that makes ThermaHive work, from its self-regulating 500W PTC heater and sunlight-readable display to its glove-friendly controls and IP65 weatherproof enclosure. It runs from a standard 110V outlet, and can be paired with a compatible solar-battery setup for off-grid yards.

What to Expect
Delivery Timed to NAHBE 2027

Our goal is to have V2 units ready for pickup at NAHBE 2027 in January, or ready to ship right around that same time for those who cannot attend in person. If you are planning to be at the expo, picking up your unit there is a great chance to meet the team and see the system firsthand.

We will share firm timing, final pricing, and pickup versus shipping details with pre-order holders as we get closer. Reserving now simply puts you at the front of the line.

Now
Summer 2026. Field treatments and mite-wash data collection continuing across the tester program. V2 pre-orders open.

Integration
V1 Is Now Compatible With BroodMinder’s Hub and App

Here is one more piece of news for our current V1 users. ThermaHive units are now compatible with BroodMinder’s hub and app, one of the most trusted names in digital hive monitoring. That means your ThermaHive treatments and hive data can live right alongside the monitoring tools many beekeepers already know and use.

One important detail on timing: BroodMinder has not yet released the updated version of their app to the public. The compatibility is built and working on our end, but it will not be usable for everyone until that public update goes live. We will notify you the moment it does, so there is nothing you need to do right now.

Pairing ThermaHive’s active heat treatment with BroodMinder’s monitoring platform moves the whole system from monitor-only to monitor-and-treat. We are excited about what that means for beekeepers.
